Starts March 24, 2010
For more than 40 years, the 4A’s Chicago Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS) has been training the best and the brightest in the agency business. This course is the perfect vehicle for your rising stars (i.e., the next generation of advertising leaders) to learn the ins and outs of:
- Setting marketing and communication objectives
- Exploring consumer attitudes and behavior
- Understanding brand equity and positioning
- Developing a marketing strategy
- Evaluating traditional and nontraditional media alternatives
- Communicating effectively with consumers
- Measuring results.
Best of all, students develop their skills by working on an actual client assignment in a team environment (the 2010 client will be threadless.com). The faculty, judges and mentors, recruited from leading agencies, are all seasoned veterans from their organizations who will be providing continual feedback. This year, Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill Integrated Marketing Communications School will be associated with the program. The course runs from March 24 through June 7, culminating with a full-team presentation to the client (and a panel of industry professionals). Who Should Attend? The Institute is designed for junior professionals, i.e., people with approximately one to five years experience. All disciplines--account service, media, creative, research, planners, public relations, digital and direct marketing are welcome. How Will the IAAS Benefit Your Agency? After graduating from the Institute, your people will return to work with a true sense of the big picture, an enhanced ability to work in a team environment and a renewed passion for doing excellent work. There is a need in marketing communications services companies for a program that provides a real-life understanding of our business. The purpose of the IAAS is to provide junior people who have not had a formal on-the-job education with the chance to jump-start their careers and increase their contribution to their agencies. It is an efficient, cost-effective training program. Many of today’s top agency executives are Chicago IAAS graduates.
The Tuition
Tuition is as follows: 4A’s members: $1,500/$1,250 if the agency sends more than one person. Non-members: $1,750 per person.
