Get Excited and Make Things
In a time when the world belongs to brands and to people who do things—than just talk, say, for example, at a formal and highly scripted planning conference—we thought it might be time to create an un-conference, an event where we get our hands dirty and learn how to actually make stuff.
The fact is that, to be inspired or create communication in media—like gaming and long-form content—or even understand what works and doesn’t in these fields, it helps to have tried it once or twice before. Just like the first shelf you put up might have been a bit crooked, your skills increase with each effort. Truly learning how to do something is in the doing, not simply in the talking about it.
That’s why Planning-ness 2009 was born.
Planning-ness is more than a conference where speakers speak. At Planning-ness, we’ll ask you—the attendees—to put the inspiration from the experts into action. Each session will consist of:
- 30–45 minutes of teaching
- 45 minutes to 1 hour of you putting the lessons into practice
- 20–30 minutes of evaluation and discussion

Pricing
With the generous help of the 4A’s and our sponsors, we have tried to keep the costs as low as possible (we think there’s some sort of economic crisis, but have decided ignorance is bliss) and give you a lot for a little.
- $175, planners with less than three years experience;
- $200, planners with more than three years experience;
- Group discounts available ($155 each for 10 or more registrants from the same office.)
- Open to both 4A's members and non-members, same prices
