Founded by the iconic and inimitable Jerry Della Femina, Della Femina Advertising remains one of the few independent, full service, fully integrated 4As advertising and marketing communications agencies in the U.S. With offices in New York and Los Angeles, Della Femina Advertising is the perfect agency for any prospective client looking for truly focused and single-minded agency dedication to their brands and company. Indeed, as an independent agency, we report to no one but our clients.

At Della Femina Advertising, our mission is simple: We are in the business of building brands and helping our clients create, grow, and manage a more profitable customer base.

Whether for an established brand needing repositioning or revitalization, or for new products and line extensions requiring initial positioning and introduction, everything we do at DFRJ starts with brand identity, personality, and consumer promise. From there we create brand advertising and communications that are not only memorable and persuasive, but relevant to consumer lifestyles and media consumption preferences. Hence our always agnostic, cross-platform approach to both traditional and non-traditional media, such as online, mobile and social media.

Our core categories of agency experience and expertise include consumer packaged goods, food & beverage, OTC and DTC pharma, consumer electronics, media & entertainment, healthcare, financial services, automotive, fashion & accessories, and retail, among others. Our B2B experience is second-to-none.

Jerry Della Femina, Chairman, CEO & Executive Creative Director
In 2017, Jerry Della Femina was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame, which recognizes the most accomplished and legendary figures in advertising. Advertising Age named Jerry Della Femina one of the 100 Most Influential Advertising People of the Century. These honors simply confirm an already accepted fact within the industry – and outside of it.
For years he was the most sought-after advertising expert in the country, and Mr. Della Femina has appeared in almost every major television network, magazine and newspaper. He is the winner of Lions from Cannes, Good Keys for copywriting, Clios, Andys and just about every creative award in the advertising business.
He co-founded Della Femina Travisano & Partners in 1967. The agency grew to become one of the top 20 agencies in the U.S. with billings over $800 million. DFT&P (later named Della Femina McNamee) produced some of the most successful advertising running during the “advertising creative revolution,” building successful brands such as Beck’s Beer, Isuzu and Blue Nun Wine. In fact, some of the work is still running today: Meow Mix and Dow Bathroom Cleaner (“Scrubbing Bubbles”).
Meow Mix (“Singing Cat”) and Isuzu (“Joe Isuzu”) have been chosen by Ad Age as two of the most creative campaigns in the history of advertising.
After selling his agency in 1987, Mr. Della Femina re-entered the advertising business in 1991.
Mr. Della Femina has written one of the three best-selling books in the history of advertising, "From Those Wonderful Folks Who Gave You Pearl Harbor." David Ogilvy and Rosser Reeves authored the other two. "From Those Wonderful Folk" is still required reading at many universities and has been credited by many as the book that inspired them to start a career in advertising.
In 2008, Jerry Della Femina was inducted into The Creative Hall of Fame.
Mr. Della Femina also writes a weekly column, “Jerry’s Ink,” for The Independent newspaper. His column has won several “Best Humor” Awards from the Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
Jerry Della Femina was born in Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn College. He received honorary doctorates from the University of Missouri in 1983 and Long Island University in 1989.
