Linda Sawyer, Chairman
A lifelong steward of Deutsch Inc., Linda joined the agency over 25 years ago. She has been a key player in helping Deutsch become an industry leader known for it’s fierce independence and strong culture. Linda is keenly focused on attracting best-in-class talent and creating a future-facing business model for Deutsch. Her accolades include a Matrix Award and a place on the top 10 most powerful women list as part of Advertising Age’s “100 Most Influential Women in Advertising,” Linda serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Advertising Educational Foundation Board, Director-at-Large for the 4As, and she sits on the Advisory Board for Women at NBCU. A native of New York, Linda graduated magna cum laude from GWU. Her passion for advertising is second only to her passion for her husband and their two boys.

Since 1992, Deutsch New York’s engine has been Val DiFebo. She has been the cornerstone of Deutsch’s unprecedented growth. Val’s leadership has built a powerful company filled with spirited, passionate, business-oriented individuals dedicated to accelerating client success rates. A testament to the strong culture, Crain’s New York Business named the agency one of NYC’s Best Places to Work. A provocative industry thought leader, her marketing insights have been sought out by The Today Show, CNN, the ANA, 4As, and even The Apprentice. Val’s philanthropic involvement includes fundraising for Williams College, she is a founding director of The Hearts of Gold Foundation, and she is on the Board of Trustees of Buckley Country Day School. Val and her husband Dick live in Douglaston, NY, with their son, Bryan, their pride and absolute joy.
Kerry Keenan, Partner, Chief Creative Officer
With a reputation for creating brave and effective work, Kerry is a highly acclaimed and awarded creative director. She has a fresh, collaborative grass roots approach to unearthing big, high profile creative ideas for clients. Prior to Deutsch, Kerry co-founded Half Irish which specializes in branded/original content. Her most recent agency job was with Y&R as Global ECD and Founder of YR Entertainment. Stepping boldly into the realms of dark psychology, Kerry’s Land Rover creative deftly reinforced the brands “Safe Inside” positioning. She also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi where under her leadership P&G’s Crest became the most awarded brand in 2008 and JC Penney experienced its 2007 turnaround. With a passion for branded content, Kerry has produced a docu-drama for Cellular South, 'Y’all vs Us: Head to Head', distributed nationally by Fox Sports Net, created an invisible pop up store for Airwalk, and developed a series of shorts for MTV2 called 'Maturity is Overrated.' She has also worked at BBDO, Leo Burnett, and BBH. Named an Advertising Age Woman to Watch, Kerry was also cited by Fast Company as the real world 'Peggy Olsen.' Kerry lives in NYC and is Mom to Lucy and Francis.
Anush Prabhu, Partner, Chief Channel Planning Officer
With a vision of using deeper data-driven insights to take ideas to market, Anush boomeranged back to Deutsch in 2012, after crafting consumer communications planning and analytics departments at JWT and mcgarrybowen. He leads an integrated team representing Communications Planning, Media Planning/Buying, and Data Strategy. Anush believes data-driven insights are critical in engaging with today’s complex consumer behavior, in pushing innovations and in driving incremental value from media investments. He has a passion for driving results—by finding the right points where consumer behavior and mindset meet; he identifies the 36 degrees out of 360 that make the difference. He’s worked on a variety of brands, including Microsoft, Royal Caribbean, HSN, Marriott, Chase, J&J, Novartis, IKEA, Cadbury, T. Rowe Price and United Healthcare Group. Born and raised in India, Anush lives in Jersey City with his wife Monika, daughter Anoushka, and their dog Zazzu. Passionate about photography and cooking, Anush stays healthy by reducing his ice-cream consumption.
Brent Vartan, Partner, Chief Strategy Officer
Brent genuinely believes there is an opportunity in every business. Taking great pleasure in the "puzzle work" that is Strategic Planning, Brent leads a team in tireless pursuit of new marketing models and techniques that subscribe to socially directed decision-making as the key to behavior change. In his 15-year career, Brent has worked with a variety of blue-chip brands including Microsoft, PNC, Novartis, Starwood, Under Armour, Lowe's, Monster.com, FedEx, Gillette, Oral-B, Frito-Lay and Cisco. A California native, Brent began his career in San Francisco as a Media Planner at Goldberg Moser O'Neil, and later as a Strategic Planner at Hill Holliday, before migrating east to work at BBDO. Brent is now happily settled in NYC with his wife Jessica, his baby boy Rhys, and their inappropriately small dog, Shorty. When not at work, they can be found in every nook of New York and/or planning their next regret-riddled, memory-making adventure.
Erica Grau, Partner, Chief Operating Officer
Erica has a keen knack for anticipating clients’ needs, even before they ask. Her razor-sharp focus helps Deutsch deliver integrated business solutions to our clients, and aligning agency resources to deliver those results. She oversees the operational duties for the running of our businesses, including the development of compensation proposals and contracts, and the day-to-day financial operations of the company. With Deutsch since 2000, Erica is an ardent and esteemed leader who has provided account stewardship for clients including Monster, MCI/Verizon Business, Zelnorm, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Prior to Deutsch, she was at drinks.com, and has worked at TBWA\Chiat\Day with clients Doubletree, Embassy Suites, and Hampton Inn, Redken Hair Care, New York Life Insurance, and Wonderbra. Erica and her husband live in Manhattan and are kept busy chasing after their two children, Richard and Daniella.
