Marla Kaplowitz, CEO, North America
Marla became CEO of MEC North America in October 2011, bringing modern strategic leadership and a fresh approach to client relations. She joined MEC in March 2011, as President, US Client Services and Head of Planning, and was quickly elevated to lead the North American business. In her role as CEO, Marla is responsible for driving the development and execution of the agency’s strategic growth initiatives, maintaining oversight of its North America operations, and advancing the agency’s commitment to delivering excellence in client service.
Marla’s passion for the business and sheer curiosity has supported the growth of MEC’s integrated A&I practice, the expansion of its digital and social offering, and its increased focus on innovation. Marla has also been a driving influence in transforming the agency’s vision and culture, participating in the global roll-out of MEC’s new branding and pioneering the “inspire happiness” approach to cultivating talent both personally and professionally.

Marla brings to MEC over 27 years of media and communications planning experience, leading accounts that span virtually every business sector. Prior to joining MEC, she spent 12 years at MediaVest, where she led the Procter & Gamble Communications Planning assignment for North America, and previously managed a multi-client team that included Avon, Denny’s, Heineken and Norelco. Marla began her career at DMB&B working across clients including Procter & Gamble, Merck and Burger King, before moving to Ammirati Puris Lintas, where she oversaw the Unilever, Labatt, and Nickelodeon Networks businesses.

Marla is a member of the 4As Media Leadership Council, Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), and in 2012 was recognized by Advertising Age as a ‘Woman to Watch’.
