Michael Schreurs, CEO
Mike Schreurs is the founder and CEO of Strategic America. Prior to starting the agency in 1980, his entrepreneurial skills were at work in the formation of a mobile television production firm, Carnaby Square. As head of this branch of a broadcast holding company, Mike directed and produced numerous format productions from live network feeds for NBC's Today Show to election events for ABC to news coverage for CBS as well as numerous sports and entertainment programs, educational and commercial videos as spots.

Today, Mike is primarily responsible for SA client's strategic planning and issues management counsel as well as new business development.

Under his leadership the agency has grown from a startup to a 90 person firm recognized for effectiveness in an integrated marketing services model. Additionally the company has recieved several awards for business practices including the Better Business Bureau's Integrity Award in 2003, the United Way of Central Iowa's Impact Award in 2007 and the Community champion Finalist award in 2005.

He has been active in numerous civic, non-profit and state and community boards including Friends of Iowa Public Television (past chair), Waterloo Chamber of Commerce (past chair), Iowa State Parks, Metro forum, IOS (a subsidiary of Corporation for Public Broadcasting), and others.
John Schreurs, President/COO
In addition to setting and administering corporate operations for the agency, John is actively involved with account management, including development of new sales promotions and media strategies for several regional and national clients. His insights and solutions mindset of integrating sales, operations, finance and marketing is strategic and provides results and long-term value for SA clients. Before joining Strategic America in 1983, John successfully developed his skills as sales manager at KFMW-FM, Waterloo, for five years, and gained broad marketing experience with the Muscatine, Iowa, Chamber of Commerce. Along with his responsibilities at SA, John serves on the board of directors of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, the Executive Committee for Employee and Family Resources and is active in other community and professional organizations.
Jim Stafford, VP, Client Services/Principal
A veteran of more than 30 years in the corporate marketing and agency business, Jim began his agency career with a Cedar Rapids-based agency, and then spent 14 years in Des Moines as partner and VP of another advertising and marketing firm. Prior to joining Strategic America, he was executive vice president of a Pennsylvania agency. At SA, Jim oversees the entire account services area, as well as generating and addressing new business opportunities for the agency. In the community, Jim serves on the board of directors of Rock in Prevention, Timber Creek Charities and the Mid-Iowa Council, Boy Scouts of America. He also serves on the Leadership Center Task Force for Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
Bryce Thomson, VP, Group Account Director
Bryce has more than 27 years of experience in marketing and advertising including 20 years with Strategic America. A Drake University graduate, he has media sales as well as client-side experience in franchise marketing. Bryce provides strategic direction, program development and oversight for our channel marketing clients and teams.
Dave Miglan, VP, Digital Services
Raised near Cleveland, OH on a healthy dose of rock n’ roll and mid-western work ethics, Dave Miglin leads Strategic America’s digital strategy team. Local and social online marketing offers tremendous opportunities for our clients, both in terms of brand awareness and increased sales. Dave brings to SA nearly 25 years of local search and recruitment advertising experience encompassing digital (SEM, SEO, social media, mobile marketing, website design and online branding) and traditional print media. Prior to joining SA, Dave held senior positions with respective industry leaders including Monster/TMP Worldwide, AppVault and most recently PinDot Media. Among the numerous brands that Dave has been fortunate to work with are: North American Van Lines, Mail Boxes Etc (now The UPS Stores), Pella Windows & Doors, InterContinental Hotels Group, Suburban Lodge, Orkin, Service Experts, Comcast, Iowa Financial Authority, St. Luke’s Hospital and more.
Bruce Ganzer, VP, Creative Director
For the past two decades, Bruce has directed literally thousands of successful creative and branding projects for SA clients. His open, easy personality sets the stage for mutual dialogue leading to best possible solutions. The results typically deliver beyond expectations, shifting the marketing and competitive advantage to our clients. Bruce specializes in corporate communication design and multimedia productions. He has received numerous regional and national awards for his work on annual reports; corporate brochures; and advertising, sales promotion and other collateral materials. Bruce recently celebrated his 23rd anniversary with Strategic America.
Lisa Holtorf, VP, Operations and Integration
Lisa has served SA’s clients within a number of roles since joining the agency in 1995. As production manager, account manager and supervisor; director of production and design services; and now in her current role of VP/Operations and Integration, Lisa is responsible for customizing agency resources to provide SA’s best solutions for each client’s needs. Lisa has helped successfully launch major campaigns for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Finance Authority, American Equity, The HON Company, LCS, Kum & Go and other leading clients. On the operations side, she helped lead the modification of SA’s new offices, the company’s move, and SA’s application for LEED certification for our new home.
Nathan Johnson, VP/Marketing Services Director, Principal
Spend two minutes talking to Nathan and you’ll find him guiding the conversation into some cool, new strategic direction SA is, or will be, designing for one of our clients. Nathan lives on the leading edge. His experience includes entrepreneurial business start-ups in entertainment, telecom and marketing/communications. He has consulted with hundreds of businesses nationally, including HON, Allsteel, Jet-Alliance and the California Wellbeing Institute–Four Seasons Resort (A Dole/WellPoint joint venture) on growth strategies, organization, equity and marketing. National has served national and international clients in health care, tourism, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial service sectors. He currently leads account and media teams for Service Experts, one of the largest RSR HVAC companies in the U.S. and Canada as well as several Pella Windows Branches. He also has special consulting expertise in television and other media, working at the U.S. Cabinet level on documentaries to influence foreign policy and in providing humanitarian aid to Africa. He is involved in numerous charitable and community organizations across the nation.
