Doug Checkeris, Chief Executive Officer
Doug was named CEO of MediaCom U.S. in the fall of 2007. Doug strengthens and broadens MediaCom’s management team by bringing his extensive media background, impressive track-record and intimate knowledge of MediaCom’s global capabilities to the U.S. client base. Prior to taking on this role, Doug was President and CEO of MediaCom’s Canadian operations, known as The Media Company. During his tenure in Canada, he helped build The Media Company into the largest and most successful media investment management company in the country, placing #1 for several successive years on RECMA’s ranking of Canadian agencies. Doug began his career at MBS in Canada 25 years ago as a media trainee. After a series of promotions, he joined the MBS management committee in 1986. He was named managing partner in 1996, one year before MBS joined forces with MediaCom to form The Media Company. He was named President and CEO of The Media Company in 2003. Doug has successfully pitched and run a broad range of clients spanning virtually every category, some of which include: TD Canada Trust, BMW Canada, Procter & Gamble, Nokia, Best Buy/ Future Shop, Pfizer Canada, Warner Bros., LVMH, ConAgra Foods, GlaxoSmithKline, Moosehead/ Carlsberg and Michelin. Doug has been active in developing many of the services now offered in Canada. He pioneered the agency’s entry into online media, developed a specialized group that manages events and promotions, and spearheaded corporate research. In addition, in 2005 Doug was a member of the Media Jury for the Cannes Media Lions. When he’s not working, Doug enjoys spending time with his two children, and competing in Master’s Lacrosse, Basketball and Ski Racing.
Mark Piazza, Chief Financial Officer
Mark S. Piazza is Managing Partner, Chief Financial Officer, for MediaCom U.S. In this role, Piazza oversees the company’s financial and operating strategies in order to maximize profitability and achieve operational objectives.
Prior to joining MediaCom, Piazza was Vice President, CFO for Publicis Modem, a digital and direct marketing agency within Publicis Worldwide, a member of Publicis Groupe S.A. In this position, he held fiscal and operational responsibilities for the company’s northeast operations, servicing various clients across four offices. Clients included Delta, Kraft, Monster, Marriott and Heineken. Before joining Publicis Modem, Piazza spent five years as Vice President, Finance for the New York office of Digitas LLC.
Piazza has also held financial management positions at Liz Claiborne Incorporated, Saks Fifth Avenue, Perrier Group of North America and Kraft Foods. He is a graduate of Iona College and holds an MBA in finance from Pace University.
Euan Jarvie, Chief Client Officer
Euan joined MediaCom US in 2009 as Chief Client Officer. He currently helps hone and develop all aspects of client-facing operations, focusing on areas such as organizational structure, talent development, best practices and collaboration. In addition, as part of the U.S. senior leadership team, Euan helps drive growth and set overall direction for the organization whilst also overseeing all new business efforts in the USA.
Euan first joined the MediaCom family in 1997 to establish the Edinburgh office in the UK. The operation tracked consistent double-digit annual growth for a decade culminating in MediaCom having the largest ever media agency operating in Scotland. In 2008, having led MediaCom Scotland for over a decade Euan also took on the leadership of MediaCom Dublin to his remit, re-setting the operation in Ireland.
Prior to joining MediaCom, Jarvie held Media Director and Media Investment positions at several major agencies, including WWAV Rapp Collins, O&M Media, Carat and Zenith Media.
In 2009, Euan was invited to become a Fellow of the Marketing Society in the UK, and named as the No.2 most powerful and influential person in Scottish media in 2008.
He received his BA Honours from Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Sloan Broderick, Managing Director, Managing Partner
Sloan is responsible for all aspects of the agency’s digital operations and strategy, including the continued integration of digital marketing into MediaCom’s core business.
Sloan manages teams that integrate internet-based communications & services, business strategy, media and advertising, to help clients demonstrate measurable returns on their marketing and media investments. He has extensive digital experience including online media awareness and acquisition campaigns, branded entertainment, site and interactive experience development, social networking, as well as search engine marketing. Sloan has also led brand development, customer insights, product development, and loyalty engagements on behalf of his clients.
Prior to joining MediaCom, Sloan held various senior marketing positions at Publicis Modem. His responsibilities included account management, strategic marketing & media planning and execution for clients including Heineken, AOL, Marriott, Sirius Satellite Radio, Kraft, Cap Gemini, and Dice Holdings, Inc.
Prior to joining Modem Media, Sloan held marketing and business development positions at Alliance Consulting NY and at Cap Gemini America. Additionally, Sloan has worked and lived in Buenos Aires for Xerox.
He is fluent in Spanish, and graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Economics. Sloan lives in Fairfield CT with his wife Joanne and children Hayley and Hunter. He enjoys cooking, travel, golf, and spending plenty of time being silly with his kids.
