Ken Eudy, CEO
One of the founders of Capstrat, Ken lends strategic communications counsel for a variety of clients including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund and the University of North Carolina.

He spent six years as a TV news correspondent for stations in Raleigh and Charlotte, and six years as chief political writer for The Charlotte Observer, North Carolina's largest newspaper. In 1987-1988, Ken was executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party. He was also senior vice president of public relations at FGI.

In 2002, Ken was inducted into the North Carolina Public Relations Hall of Fame.
For 10 years, Ken taught Writing for the Media as visiting lecturer at Duke University. He received his B.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He serves in numerous civic local and state civic roles.
Karen Albritton, President
Recognized as one of the leading Triangle Women in Business. Helping to prevent thousands of NC teens from using tobacco. Wishes multi-tasking were an Olympic sport. With her insight, industry experience and tenacious competitiveness, Karen helps Capstrat consistently deliver results for clients.

She honed her skills as managing director at FGI and as vice president and associate media director at McKinney+Silver. Karen was 2009-2010 President of the Triangle Chapter of the American Marketing Association. She also serves on the boards of NC BIO and Wake Education Partnership. She earned her BA in journalism and political science from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Debbie Reed, CFO
Fiscal taskmaster and profitability forecaster. CPA from the world of banking. Spends priceless moments in her rose garden. In an office full of words and sketches, Debbie is charged with crunching numbers. With more than 20 years of experience, she is responsible for the overall financial well-being of Capstrat — from evaluating client contracts to forecasting for the future.

Before joining us, she was the director of financial reporting for Triangle Bancorp. Debbie helped this community bank grow from one branch to more than 70 — experience she applies at Capstrat as our company grows. Debbie graduated from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business.
Todd Coats, Chief Creative Officer
Creative brilliance behind many GlaxoSmithKline branding initiatives. Conceptualizes compelling research to paint powerful pictures. Puts the genie in genius. Todd is responsible for making sure Capstrat’s creative work is not only compelling but also strategically sound.

His previous roles include manager of creative services for GlaxoSmithKline as well as other North Carolina agencies. His past clients: Cartoon Network, the Country Music Association, TCI Cable and Hanes, among others. His insightful work has been recognized by the ADDYs, the Tellys, Graphis, AIGA Graphic Design USA — and many more. Todd also serves on the boards of Marbles Kids Museum and Alzheimer's North Carolina. He earned a BFA in communication arts from East Carolina University and an MA in advertising design from Syracuse University.
Leslie Comen, EVP, Government Relations
With 30 years’ experience working with the General Assembly, Leslie manages Capstrat’s public affairs work.  Her secret weapon: a distinctive southern drawl.  An expert lobbyist, she’s a trustworthy resource for legislators and community leaders.  She represents clients before the N.C. General Assembly and in the executive branch agencies of state government and has helped clients such as Land for Tomorrow and Youth Villages and build positive relationships with local and state government. 

Before Capstrat, Leslie served as vice president of governmental affairs for the N.C. Chamber of Commerce.  She also spent four years on the staff of Governor James B. Hunt, Jr.  She serves on numerous boards and commissions.
Cord Silverstein, EVP, Interactive and Social Media
Pioneered online marketing for Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, MetLife, Verizon and Dell. Cord unites the power of technology and marketing to help clients engage their audiences. Loaded with experience, he leads our interactive and social media work. Forward-thinking companies look to Cord for creative ways to build their business and develop two-way conversations with their target markets.

Previously Vice President of Client Services at MarketSmart Interactive, Cord oversaw online marketing programs for Lowe's Home Improvement, Motorola and CitiFinancial. Cord is an active speaker on social media and currently serves on the board of the Triangle Chapter of the American Marketing Association as Director of Special Interest Groups. Cord has a special place in his heart for Deadheads and Blackberry addicts.
Chip Allen, Vice President
Passionate about turning clients’ goals and visions into reality.  With a blend of advertising, research, marketing and radio sales expertise, Chip helps businesses understand not only who their consumers are, but also how to drive sales by effectively locating and reaching the audience with the right message.

Chip has built his career delivering results for clients such as Pennzoil, Levi Strauss & Company and Sentara Healthcare.  Before joining Capstrat, he led agency teams in building business for clients like Moe’s Southwest Grill, Applebee’s and the V Foundation.  He earned his BS in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.
