AGENCY DESCRIPTION
Who we are.

At LGA, we’re roughly 50 people who think and work like 100. We’re efficient, grounded, talented, experienced professionals, who genuinely like and respect our clients and each other. We’re trusted to deliver results, not just personal glory. We’re entrepreneurial and passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals. And we consistently deliver beyond expectations.

How we think.

Good solid advice. Unexpected ideas. These are the result of dynamic, collaborative thinking. At LGA, you will find a group of people with different perspectives, focused on consistent goals. We challenge each other, learn from each other and continually strengthen each other’s thoughts and efforts.

As proven, diligent professionals, we are trained to look at our client’s challenges from every angle. We don’t pull solutions off the shelf or out of thin air.

We immerse ourselves in the situation, discover a relevant insight and craft a plan that will significantly benefit our client’s business.

How we conduct ourselves.

Just as important as how we think is how we operate. Our reputation is our most cherished asset. It not only helps to attract new business, retain clients and recruit talent, it makes us proud to work here.

“Trust” is our brand promise.

The way we see it, there are very few things that anyone can have total control over – but how trustworthy you are can be 100 percent your own choice. At LGA, our brand promise is our handshake – our look-you-in-the-eye that says we will take care of your business and brand like it was our own.

Steve Luquire, CEO / Founder
Steve Luquire co-founded LGA in 1984, building the business from a three-person shop to one of the Southeast’s leading advertising, digital, marketing and public relations agencies. He maintains involvement in many aspects of the agency’s services, including branding, strategic counsel, public relations and new business initiatives.

Steve is devoted to LGA’s clients and understands that the company’s most valuable assets are the people who contribute to making LGA a special place to work. He has received the Charlotte Ad Club’s highest honor, the Silver Medal Award, and the Public Relations Society of America’s Infinity Award for representing the highest standards of character, career and service. Charlotte Magazine has listed Steve as one of Charlotte’s 50 most influential leaders.

Throughout his professional career, Steve has remained deeply involved in his community and region. He currently serves on the boards of Teach for America, The Salvation Army, Presbyterian Hospital Foundation, OrthoCarolina Research Foundation, Charlotte Merchants Foundation, Charlotte Sports Commission and Charlotte Collegiate Football. He led LGA’s efforts to assist Charlotte in its successful bid to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention. He also serves as vice chair for the PGA TOUR’s Wells Fargo Championship.

Steve is an ex-officio chairman of the North Carolina Partnership for Economic Development, past chairman of the 16-county Charlotte Regional Partnership, founding member and vice chair of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation and former executive board member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.
Peggy Brookhouse, President / Partner
With more than 25 years in brand development and advertising, Peggy Brookhouse oversees all facets of the agency’s business, from advertising to public relations to digital. She has led scores of brand articulation sessions to develop brand platforms that are strategic, relevant, differentiating and user-friendly for business-to-business, business-to-consumer and nonprofit clients. Her passion, strategic counsel and results-oriented mindset have helped clients grow their stature and bottom line.

In 2011, Peggy led the pitch that resulted in LGA being awarded the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development account. She also oversaw the team that assisted Charlotte in its successful bid to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention. In 2009, Peggy led a regional brand extension campaign for BB&T, cementing the bank’s leadership position in the financial services industry. Her repositioning of North Carolina State University helped the institution establish a bold presence, capturing the attention of students, parents and stakeholders. Peggy also has led a number of initiatives to support economic development in Charlotte. One of her accomplishments included steering the Charlotte USA brand initiative and campaign, in which she built consensus among leaders from surrounding counties and articulated a unified brand for the region. These efforts heightened perceptions of Charlotte and attracted business investors and relocation prospects to the area.

An integral part of the business community, Peggy was one of 25 businesswomen honored at the Charlotte Business Journal’s 11th Annual Women in Business Achievement Awards and was the 2011 recipient of the American Advertising Federation of Charlotte’s Silver Medal Award. Peggy is a board member of Levine Museum of the New South, the Charlotte Regional Partnership, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Urban Ministry Center, an advisory board member of Queens University of Charlotte’s School of Communications, and will serve as chair of the 2014 American Heart Association Go Red for Women Charlotte campaign. Peggy is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she majored in advertising.

A graduate of Appalachian State University, Steve began his career as a writer at Long Haymes & Carr in Winston-Salem, N.C. Throughout his career, Steve has helped many successful brands, including Gatorade, Citibank, Coors, Jacobsen, Bobcat, Yamaha, MTV, AT&T, SC Johnson, Sotheby’s, Syngenta and VF Corp. and has worked closely with a number of celebrities including Michael Jordan, Harrison Ford and Leonardo DiCaprio to launch creative platforms.

Prior to joining LGA in 2008, Brooks worked for Miller Brewing Company as an associate manager for its sports and entertainment marketing division in Chicago. Previously, he served as vice president of sponsorship and event marketing with Bank of America in Charlotte and Dallas, where he built partnerships with Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, Little League Baseball and the Baseball Hall of Fame. She also held executive positions at several other leading agencies in the Midwest and is a former feature writer for the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald, the largest suburban daily in the Chicago area.
