Marcus Fischer, Chief Executive Officer
As chief executive officer, Marcus Fischer leads the business, vision and culture of Carmichael Lynch. Under his leadership, the agency has had five years of consecutive double-digit revenue growth, and headcount has grown by more than 40% while maintaining a less than 10% turnover rate the last two years.

Marcus helped spearhead the development of Carmichael Lynch’s unique business offering, bringing together advertising and PR to provide a holistic business solution for clients. This cross-discipline, collaborative approach has been key to the agency’s success.

Marcus rejoined Carmichael Lynch in 2012 as chief strategy officer, then added the title of president and managing partner in 2013, before being named chief executive officer in 2017.

Prior to Carmichael Lynch, Fischer spent four years at the helm of digital firm Space150, where he helped dramatically grow the agency and was a regular contributor to AdAge’s Digital Next section. Earlier in his career, Marcus founded his own firm, One and All, after a stint in account planning at Fallon and a previous role at Carmichael Lynch.

Over the years, Fischer has worked on some of the nation’s most envied brands and has been the strategic mind behind countless winning campaigns for current Carmichael Lynch clients Subaru of America, U.S. Bank and Arla Foods, and other highly regarded brands such as BMW, Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, Purina Dog Chow, Dairy Queen and Target.

Marcus’s achievements have been recognized by the most respected creative and strategic competitions in marketing, including the Effies, the Webby Awards, the One Show, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Jay Chiat Awards, the Creative Media Awards and OMMA. His efforts in diversity and inclusion have also been heralded by national organizations, and he was most recently named the 2018 Champion of Diversity by the American Advertising Federation’s MOSAIC Awards.

The father of three boys and husband to Wendy, Fischer is an avid fly fisherman and serves on the board of the YMCA Twin Cities.
Julie Batliner, President
As president and managing partner of Carmichael Lynch and Carmichael Lynch Relate, Julie Batliner oversees the leadership and direction for both the creative and public relations agencies.

Batliner is focused on business success for our clients. She is the lead catalyst for integration of all agency offerings, bringing clients a holistic, cross-discipline approach to their marketing solutions. This unique ability to activate multiple and distinct agency resources based on individual client’s needs has accelerated growth for clients and agency alike.

As managing partner, Batliner has helped oversee four consecutive years of double-digit growth for Carmichael Lynch. In her first year as Carmichael Lynch Relate’s president, Batliner led the agency to unprecedented success, with 47% revenue growth and more than 50% growth in headcount. The year was capped with a win at the 2017 PRWeek Awards for Outstanding Midsize Agency. She was elevated to president of Carmichael Lynch in April 2017.

Batliner has earned industry-wide recognition for her work, including Silver Anvils, Effie Awards, SABREs and PRSA Classics, among others, on behalf of some of the most prestigious brands in the world. She has been individually recognized as a recipient of two Stevie Awards in the categories of Female Executive of the Year and Woman of the Year, a Champion of PR by PRWeek and a Working Mother of the Year by She Runs It (formerly AWNY). She was also chosen as one of Forty Under 40 by PRWeek and The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.

While she graduated from Mizzou, Batliner is a long-time resident of Minnesota with her two children and husband, and is an active member of her community, serving on the board and executive committee of Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitors Association
Marty Senn, Chief Creative Officer
Marty is our Chief Creative Officer and a Managing Partner. He oversees creative direction on all of the agency’s clients, including Subaru, U.S. Bank, Phillips 66, the Minnesota Twins and Arla.

In a nearly 20-year career, Marty has created award-winning, cross-platform ideas for brands around the world, including Levi’s, Google, Ray-Ban, Jeep, Time Magazine, the BBC, and the NBA. His work has been recognized by The One Show, Cannes Lions, Communication Arts, and the Effies. Prior to Carmichael Lynch, Marty worked at agencies in New York, London, San Francisco, Boston, and Seattle.

A native Minnesotan, Marty lives 12 minutes from the office with his wife Kimberly and their two boys, Hugo and Freddie.
Lachlan Badenoch, Chief Strategy Officer
Lachlan Badenoch joined Carmichael Lynch with a 20-year strategic track record, most recently running an independent consultancy and working at Minneapolis-based strategy agency Zeus Jones, where he lent his extensive, cross-discipline, global experience to drive business thinking and marketing innovations for clients such as Nestle, GMI, Purina and others.

Lachlan has previously worked in Paris, leading global campaigns for global Publicis Groupe clients like Orange, The Coca-Cola Company and eBay, and also at Fallon Minneapolis where he served as Planning Director on the BMW, Brawny and Purina accounts. Lachlan started his strategy career at Leo Burnett London, where he helped pioneer digital and brand entertainment projects for Heinz, Nintendo, McDonalds, Virgin, and other major brands during one of the agency’s most decorated eras.

Lachlan has earned vast industry recognition for his work, winning multiple creativity and strategy accolades from the some of the top advertising competitions in the world, including the One Show, Cannes Lions, the Clio Awards, IPA and Effie awards and more.
Stacy Janicki, Director of Account Management
Stacy Janicki leads Carmichael Lynch’s account management department, which delivers strategic leadership to clients and oversees collaborative efforts within the agency. With over 20 years in the advertising industry, her work experience spans many business categories, encompassing brands such as Anheuser-Busch, General Mills, ESPN, Healthy Choice, Microsoft, 3M, Old Navy and Verizon Cellular. She has spent time in leadership roles at Colle + McVoy, Campbell Mithun (McCann Erickson) and Martin Williams.

Stacy has contributed to work heralded by the O’Toole Awards, PRSA, the Webby Awards, the One Show, and Effie Awards. As a respected industry expert, Stacy has been sought out by esteemed media outlets, including CNBC, BBC and the New York Times for her point of view on industry-related matters, and has published articles in Ad Age and Fast Company.

Stacy has been named a “Woman to Watch” and IPG’s Agency Champion of Inclusion, in part for her work on Blaze, an internal group focused on supporting the growth, development and retention of women at Carmichael Lynch. She served for nine years as the Chairperson of the Twin Cities 4A’s board and is an active mentor with The BrandLab and Mpls MadWomen.

Stacy graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where she played on the nationally ranked women’s basketball team and has coached youth basketball for the last 20 years. In her free time, Stacy enjoys travel and going on urban adventures with her husband and three teenagers.
Orlee Tatarka, Director of Integrated Production
Orlee Tatarka is the director of integrated production and a senior partner at Carmichael Lynch. It’s a role that allows her to fully flex her natural curiosity, the cornerstone of her career. It’s also possibly the most invaluable trait for a producer who leads work ranging from multi-million dollar brand campaigns to smaller budget work focused on creating multiple pieces of versatile content and, increasingly, things that have never been made before.

Before moving to Minnesota, Orlee spent 16 years in New York. She journeyed from planning to design to account management before finding her true niche as a producer, first at BBH then at Wieden + Kennedy, New York, where she spent the past nine years working on brands like Ford, Sprite, Vitamin Water, Nike/Jordan, Spotify, Bud Light, ESPN and Southern Comfort.
Neil Goodspeed, Director of Media
Neil found his way into advertising like many media folks: completely by accident. It’s been a great way to exercise his analytical and problem solving skills, while also building brands and relationships. He has brought this expertise to brands ranging from financial to automotive, including State Farm, Subaru, Johnson & Johnson, FTD, Wrigley and Harley-Davidson among them.

Neil began his career at Campbell Mithun, then spent time in Chicago at DDB and OMD before returning to the Twin Cities for a tour on the client side, working for General Mills. He joined the ranks of Carmichael Lynch in 2004.

Neil is a thought leader in his own right, bringing innovative thinking and progressive, strategic approaches to media partnerships and activations. And it has served him well – Neil’s work has been heralded by multiple Effie Awards, the Facebook Gold Awards, and multiple Media Plan of the Year awards.

Originally from Canada, Neil would love to explain the sport of curling to you – he still plays near his home in St. Paul – or enter into an in-depth discussion about the expanding craft beer scene. Neil enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and occasionally finds time to slip away to the golf course.
Grete Lavrenz, General Manager, Carmichael Lynch Relate
As general manager of Carmichael Lynch Relate, Grete runs day-to-day operations of the New York and Minneapolis offices, ensuring staff has the resources needed and each team is producing the very best work for each client. She has a history of success reinvigorating brands and getting existing audiences to reappraise them while acquiring new audiences, changing perceptions and leading to strong business results and engagement.

Grete’s portfolio of work has been recognized by the PR industry’s PRWeek, PRSA, PR News and SABRE awards. Grete joined Carmichael Lynch Relate in 2001. She left the agency for a year to earn her master’s degree in international public relations from the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies at Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales, one of the top 100 world universities. She then returned to the firm to apply her real-world international business and cultural experiences to the agency’s clients.
