Peter Cronk, Managing Partner
A Syracuse University graduate and U.S. Army veteran, Peter joined the Riger Agency in 1972 as a copywriter, then moved to account executive and account management responsibilities, specializing in industrial, technical, financial, professional services, and health care clients. He also oversees Riger public relations and publicity efforts on behalf of our family of clients. He became a principal shareholder and managing partner of the Agency in 1984.

Peter is an Accredited Member of the Public Relations Society of America and serves as membership chair of PRSA’s Finger Lakes Chapter. He’s a member of the Business Marketing Association as well as of the Communications Association of the Southern Tier.

Within the community, he serves on the boards of directors of Roberson Museum and Science Center, the Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition, and the Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment. He is president of the Binghamton City Schools Education Foundation. A past Adjunct Instructor in public relations at Binghamton University, he has presented marketing workshops through B.U.’s Center for Commercial Competitiveness, the Broome County Industrial Development Agency Entrepreneurial Workshop, the University Industry Partnership for Economic Growth (UnIPEG), Broome-Tioga Workforce Development, SCORE – Counselors to America’s Small Businesses, and the Greater Binghamton Business Journal. In support of Broome County’s United Way, Peter has chaired its Public Relations Division. Working with other leading upstate advertising agencies to advance the profession at the regional level, he serves on the Board of Governors of the New York State Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies.
Mark Bandurchin, VP-Creative Services
Mark has been in the communications business since 1978. A graduate of Kent State University, he served as a public relations specialist for the Community Development Department, City of Binghamton. He joined Riger in 1979 as a copywriter and field account executive and has accumulated broad experience in market research, creative strategy and account management. In addition to consumer and business-to-business advertising, he also has been deeply involved with a variety of financial, healthcare and professional services clients.

Mark became a shareholder in the Riger Agency in 1991 and was named Vice President, Creative Services. For over ten years he served as Adjunct Instructor in advertising at Binghamton University. Additionally, he is Past President of the Public Relations Society of the Southern Tier and has served on the boards of the American Cancer Society and Center for Adolescent Services. He currently serves on the executive board of the Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America and the board of the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally.

Active in Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce affairs, Mark serves on the Project Pride committee. He is a graduate of the Broome Leadership Institute, Class of ’93. When not attending the kids’ sporting events, Mark plays a fine game of golf, taking the “A” slot in many captain-and-crew outings.
Steve Johnson, VP- Client Services
Steve joined the Riger Agency as a copywriter in 1987. Since then, he has served as an account executive and account manager working with a wide variety of business-to-business, consumer and financial services clients.

Along the way, he’s developed a keen understanding of the principles of Total Quality Management. The relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction is Steve’s personal mission, making him a perfect Riger team leader.

In 1996, Steve became a shareholder in the Agency, and was named Vice President, Client Services.

Steve is a graduate of Binghamton University’s School of Management—a student of business with a concentration in marketing that included an internship with Riger. After a year on the street selling AM radio advertising (“a real-world workshop in the psychology of sales and marketing”), Steve found his way back to Riger.

Steve sits on the Board of Directors of the Broome County Council of Churches (BC3). He is also a member of the Communications Association of the Southern Tier (CAST). Some of his other community involvement activities include coaching Johnson City youth sports and volunteering for United Way campaigns, the Broome Library Foundation, Binghamton University Community Campaigns (Business and Industry Division Leader), the Empire State Games, and the Greater Binghamton Chamber (Project Pride). Steve is a graduate of the Broome Leadership Institute, Class of ‘97.
