With offices in Omaha and Fresno and over 70 retail specialists on staff,
Surdell has proved itself with department stores (Gottschalks), midline stores (Kohl’s), discount retailers (Kmart, Pamida) and specialty chains (Cabela’s, Brodkey’s). Our team includes management and creative executives from some of the top retailers in the U.S., including Best Buy, Macy's, Mervyn's and Kmart.

We worked with Coles Group LImited, the second largest retailer in Australia, to develop a completely new ad planning and production process for their general merchandising and grocery retail brands. This included Target, Kmart and Coles Supermarkets. The result was a savings of several million dollars annually, a shorter ad production schedule to allow merchants more time to respond to market trends and competitive actions and a stronger presentation of offers and promotions to consumers.

We were asked to review a department store client’s brand positioning and strategic business plan to increase profitable sales. The result was a complete outsource of the advertising to our agency. We leveraged our proprietary Web database to develop an advanced ad planning process. The forecast information is at the SKU level so we are able to analyze advertising event lift. This has resulted in improved gross margin dollars and double-digit comp sales growth during event periods. We partnered with the client’s marketing and merchandising groups to develop the new brand positioning and we continue to create and produce all of the advertising for the annual print and broadcast program.
